We are a no kill animal shelter. We do not euthanize for space. Our mission statement is:

TO provide assistance and information to others whose purposes are consistent with the purpose of Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc.
TO provide assistance and financial aid to prevent overpopulation through spaying and neutering programs.

Programmes and Activities-

We provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes.

We operate a low cost spay/neuter program that provides spay/neuter assistance to low income residents, as well as local animal control and rescues. Second Chance, in cooperation with the Dakin Animal Shelter, also provides clinics for barn and feral cats to help control overpopulation and improve the health of these animals.

We have a school outreach program that provides education to school age children both in the schools and in youth programs. This program provides information on caring of their pets, bite prevention, as well as the plight of shelter pets.

We do many events throughout the year getting the word out about our shelter and programs.
